Roland Alexander Amaral Sr., 66, of Keaau died Feb. 13 at the Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired heavy equipment mechanic for Ka‘u Agribusiness and member of the Heritage Christian Fellowship in Hilo. Visitation 5-6 p.m. Monday (Feb. 27) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 6 p.m. Cremation to follow; scattering of ashes 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4, at Pohoiki beach. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Survived by wife, Paulette Amaral of Keaau; sons, Lesley A. Lerma Jr., Allan S. (Tasha) Amaral and Manuel A. (Chi-Ashley) Amaral of Keaau, Joseph A. (Tatiana) Felix of Hilo and Roland A. Kamilo Vaoloa Fale‘ofa, 80, of Holualoa died Feb. 14 at home. Born in Kolonga, Tonga, he was a coffee farm supervisor, cattle rancher and member of Melino Moe Fetokoniaki and St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Charles Ontiveros, 76, of Hilo died Feb. 9. Born in Kukaiau, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Visitation 5-6 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 26) at Ballard Family Mortuary. Ella Shigeyo Sakamoto, 105, of Naalehu died Feb. 7 at Ka‘u Hospital. Born in Honuapo, she was a member of Naalehu Hongwanji Buddhist Temple. Services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts).
